WTT: Shires Bass Independent Axial set for rotors

Hi,

Don't know if this will work but here goes. I have a Shires Independent Bass with Axial valves. The horn itself is about 8 years old. The F valve is brand new - recently replaced at the Shires factory thanks to a kind forum member. The Gb valve is as old as the horn, and could probably use some love. I've kept it in good condition - always oiling and doing my best.

I guess I just don't like the Axial valves, or find them too heavy, or something. I'd just like to experiment with some other things.

If you have a set of Shires rotors lying around, and feel like working something out please let me know... I would also be willing to work out something with cash if you find the condition warrants it.

Both independent and dependent set-ups would work for me.

I'll put up some pics later, but just wanted to get this out there.

Thank you  Image

When I brought that valve section to Shires they inspected the the Gb valve, too, and found no cause to have it replaced, so they just did a tune-up to that valve. Image  Also the slide nut (and the tenon, too, I think) were replaced as the nut was worn.
