Obviously Philip Jones, but what are the more contemporary ones? Vienna Brass Connection has some good stuff but I'd like to know which others are out there.

Slide Action are fab - their Re:build album is astonishingly good.
Not really a brass ensemble without any horns or trumpets, but I'm also looking for bone ensemble stuff - thanks!

Mnozil Brass, if you've just awoken from a 20-year sleep.
Not my cup of tea...

Summit Brass. You can check them out for free on YouTube and they have many CDs for purchase. The "Summit Brass Live" recording is one of my favorites.

German Brass
National Brass Ensemble
I'll check them out. Which "National" - of Germany?
I'm a huge fan of Septura. Their Shostakovich 8th string quartet is masterful.

Large ensemble:
Chicago SO Brass, especially their live recording on CSO ReSound
Millar Brass
Quintets:
Center City
Meridian Arts Ensemble
American BQ
Trombone ensembles (quartet):
Weiner Posaunenquartette
New Trombone Collective
If you enjoy listening to Early Music, the first one that comes to mind is Concerto Palatino. Their base is 2 cornetti and 3 sacbuts.

Can I recommend having a listen to a Brass Group called First Brass. This is a track from their one and only Album, I might be wrong on this. You should be able to find a few other tracks on YouTube if this floats your Schmacker....
The group consists of four players multi-tracking.
Allan Botschinsky
Derek Watkins
Bart Van Lier
Erik Van Lier

Another plug for Meridian Arts Ensemble. One of their albums is predominantly Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart. Another is straight ahead baroque, including Bach, Corelli, Telemann, Scarlatti(s), and the murderer Gesualdo. Their other albums are similarly eclectic.

Another vote for Septura, they are fab, very classical though. Seem to play mainly classical arrangements.
Wallace Collection(Scottish ensemble) are well worth a listen.

Millar is a name I haven't heard in a few decades, but that's on-target for what I'm looking for.

I dont know if this counts, but the professors' choir from STS. I always enjoy their performances of Jim Nova's John Williams arrangements.
