As a number of you know, I've posted a number of Home Video recordings from my YouTube channel playing my Conn70H Bass using various backing tracks. Well I was fortunate ( after years of trying to find Free backing tracks ) to find this website that has insane volumes of Pro and Original backing tracks, All Free to download ( Yes completely Free ). This is where I got all my backing tracks from.

I thought it would be a great benefit to everyone that I shared this amazing site with you all.

You can download free, however, anyone who does not register ( which is free bye the way ) will have limited download access, so I strongly suggest you register straight away to unlock UNLIMITED backing tracks.

Once your in, simply search Title, or Artist to view the list of tracks available.
Each track will have a green Arrow you press to play the track to see if it's the version you are after.
Once you find THE One, click on the Title which ( which should go Blue ) this will take you into the track which will allow you to change pitch, or change Tempo then download via the DL icon.

Also - If you click on the Artist, this will take you to All their Zillion tracks.

Another cool thing is some of the songs have Tags to show what Genre of music, if you click on the Tag, it will take you to another Zillion billion tracks just for that Genre...... Few

I'm sure you will get the gist of it with a few beers...... but be warned this can absorb a lot of your time.

So tbdana, SwissTbone, Savio, and Joebone......The Conn Artist has delivered on his word. He hopes you will have many hours of fun - All Tariff Free .

Don't type in Shadow of your Smile.... I did and lost 48 Hours from my Life ( Good hours of course ) :good:

Well here it goes folks.

Love and Peace,

Al

Cool resource, thanks for the link. Just a couple of questions about this - You you get a lead sheet or an indication what key its in? How about an indication when the intro is over and its time to come in?

Hi Hyperbolica - Pleased you like it. With reference to your below question.

Cool resource, thanks for the link. Just a couple of questions about this - You you get a lead sheet or an indication what key its in? How about an indication when the intro is over and its time to come in?

These backing tracks are from many different versions of the same tunes but as mentioned, different genres.
There are No Lead-sheets, you will need to listen for the queue to come in, which is a good exercise to get used to.
Also - Each track does not state the key in which it is being played, again, this will involve you trying to work out the
key signature, you will eventually find it, another great listening exercise if you like to have a go at improv by ear.

What I tend to do is find a chart on You tube that I like, in my case George Roberts, make a note of how long the Video is from the tune beginning to end, i.e. 2.45 Mins, then search this chart on this backing track site with the relevant artist and try to find that exact track firstly finding the backing that has the same time duration. I then listen to the YouTube chart and write down on manuscript how many bars there are from the start, always adding markers as to what is the intro, when the vocal starts, any bridges or fills. This is then my route map to write the wording / phrasing ready for when I come to practice then record it. Believe me, when you understand the words of a song, it really does help when you phrase your playing, it may not work for some but does for me.

I hope this makes some sort of sense... :good:

Ok, so it's probably about the same work as using band in a box, but you get a better backing track. You just don't get the other things that biab can give you.

I just tried some tracks and simply played by ear. Works good enough for having some fun.
