Doug Elliot's web site says:
The letter on the shank must match the letter on the cup
Will a shank that fits, for instance, an ST C cup also fit an LB C cup?

Yes. You can use a C3 shank, for example, on an ST C cup or LB C cup.
You can use the next letter up for the "+" cups (C+ with D shank, for instance), though it seems "+" shanks are now in the mix for some of them.

Yes, this is what I do on my small tenor mouthpiece: XT104, XT C+, D2.

My bass set up is an LBL/L8 and tenor is an LBG/G8. The same G8 shank can be used with any G cup, XTG, LTG and so on.

Glad to have confirmation from Doug himself. Can the euph shank be used with the LT cup?

Match the cup letter... not the series
