There are many hearing aids on the market these days. I'm sure there are many of my trombone colleagues who have diminished hearing as I have. Just wonder what kind of hearing aids do many of you find adequate or more than adequate when playing your trombone.

Just for grins, try using wireless earbuds and your cell phone set to "amplify ambient sounds" (on Android)
or similar on iPhone...
I tried my Moms rather expensive aids and wasn't impressed with the sound.
Might have a better sound quality than actual hearing aids...

I got myself some Costco hearing aids last August-Sept (can't remember exactly when) and they've worked out well for me. Good quality for a good price with nice rechargeable batteries. I have mine linked to my cell phone for volume control and on/off -- much easier than using the buttons on the behind the ear pieces themselves.
As far as playing my horn, I have to either turn them off or take them out when I practice or play alone-- playing in a ensemble doesn't seem to need that. When I practice, the vibrations in the bell drive me crazy. It's worse on my euphonium. Often I just pull the little earpieces out and let them dangle behind my ears when practicing. That works pretty well. The only time I leave them when playing alone is when I give my grandson lessons over FaceTime. I can't hear him otherwise, since my phone also comes through the hearing aids, a nice feature.
