I have an Accent Artist Series TB959DBL Trombone that I ready to part with. It originally was called the Dallas Brass Model. Some of the information here is from a previous post where I talked about this horn before. You might think this horn is one of the more-known Accent student horns that are made in China, but this one was part of their Artist series, which were professional models made in Germany by Meinl. My parents bought this horn for me when I was a senior in high school, and I played it throughout college as a music major. My professor had some sketchy feelings about this horn and the Accent company, along with the rest of my trombone studio, but all of them were surprised by it. It has a wonderful tone and response, the slotting is great, and even though I have the rotary valve open wrap version, it is still very free blowing. Everybody who has played it (professionals and amateurs) have said that it plays like a mixture of a Bach 42B and a Conn 88H. I have played both of those horns now, and I agree. I have not had any problems with my bone and loved it, playing it in basement ska parties, to brass quintets, to orchestras, etc. It is a wonderful horn that was well worth the money. This bone was called the Dallas Brass model because the trombonist from the Dallas Brass, Michael Levine, worked with Accent to make a professional trombone that would be set at a very fair price for the public. I saw one of their workshops/shows at the NYSMMA Conference around 2009 and asked him about it, and he said that he was pleased with the final product. However, by the that time, the Accent contract with Dallas Brass had ended, making the name of the bone just Accent Artist Model TB959DBL; I was told that Dallas Brass wanted to try out other outlets. A few years later, Accent discontinued this model. Everybody was always surprised to hear what came out of my bell when I played this baby, and I have been more than happy with it. However, it is not the top of the line, and I was wanting to upgrade, and finally did. Since 2013, I have not played this horn, and it has been sitting. The valve is not smooth since it has not been oiled for 4 years, but once it is cleaned up (like when I was regularly playing it), it should be fine. Under the valve cap, there is some black gunk that should clean right up. The slide right now is at a 7 out of 10 because it has not been touched for a while, but it usually was always at a 9 out of 10 when it was in top shape. On the part that touches your neck, the outside lacquer has worn down and parts of it have turned green, but this is due to the acidity of seat in the human body. A new coating could be put on if you wish, but it is not necessary. There are a few light scratches on it from age, and a few dings, but nothing major. One ingenious design on this trombone is the hand brace; it is slightly curved for a type of ergonomic-fit that rests very comfortably in your left hand. This brace is the by far the most comfortable of any trombone I have ever held. Once this horn is cleaned, oiled, lubed, and loved, it should be in great working order. A slide alignment will also help, which I always suggest for a horn that has been sitting for years and/or shipped in the mail. The case included is a no-name brand French-style that hardly left my house and is in great condition. This would be the perfect horn for a high school student,m or older player, who is serious about the trombone and wants to upgrade to an F-attachment. Asking $900, plus shipping to CONUS or international. We can also work out a deal if you want. I have a big box ready to have this beauty shipped off. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

If anybody has any reservations about this horn, wants to try it out, and is somewhat close to New York, I'm willing to drive up and meet with you; of course up to a certain driving distance. Feel free to make a low offer as a starting point so we can come to an agreement. The only downside with the horn is that the trigger is "frozen" because it has not been used in a long time, which can easily be fixed with a cleaning and lubing.
