Olds Recording
This is a sweet horn. Serial #401xxx puts it around 1962. Very minimal denting - two pin sized in the bell throat and a couple on the tuning slide. Dual bore slide with fluted tubes are surprisingly straight and fast. Could use a polishing on the outers and has the tiniest spot of wear on one inner tube. What a great sounding horn! Comes with what looks like an original case in ok condition. Comes with an Olds 12C  --- $575.00 shipped CONUS only.

Besson 8-10
What a rocket! I am surprised at the giant sound this little horn has. Serial #379xxx looks to be mid sixties vintage. Has several dings and dents in bell section. I had some dents removed in the outer slide and could use a polishing. Slide is smooth but scratchy sounding. Case is ok and hold the horn. Comes with an unmarked super small mouthpiece. -- $275.00 shipped CONUS only

Is the scratchiness on the Besson something that a shop could fix?

I am sure a tech could fix it but that would be at additional cost. When I get home I will give it a good polishing and let you know the results.

Okay! When I buy used instruments I often figure a trip to a tech is in our future, but since I'm pretty new to the whole trombone thing, I didn't know if that scratchiness was permanent or could be fixed/polished out. Thanks!

It's about the same after a polish. Definitely playable.
