I really like having backup mouthpieces in all of my cases and I think it’s about time to try to trade for sizes I’m more used to.

Up for your consideration is a 5GL with some scuffs and a couple dings on the outside edge of the rim. I couldn’t feel it. I’ll post pictures tomorrow. I actually happen to like the sound of this mouthpiece. It can get strident and lively but still sounds like an appropriately behaved tenor when not hard on the gas. The 5 rim is just too small for me to deal with for more than a sitting in an emergency.

All I want is a 3 or 2 sized large shank mouthpiece of any make. Just needs to have a good rim and the shank needs to be true and round. Chances are it’ll sit in my large tenor case for years! But I still don’t play large tenor very much so forgetting to switch my DE rim to my large set up is very possible!

Or if you have a larger-than-a-1-1/2G bass mouthpiece knocking around in a case of a drawer I wouldn’t mind keeping a backup in my other bass case. Again I’m not picky; a 1-1/2G would be fine but I already have two that I very much like matched with other set ups ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
