Brass band arranging question

Hi everyone,

I'm currently doing some brass band engraving (taking some old scores and putting them into Sibelius). I'm just wondering if anyone could explain two things for me:

 - There is "SH" written on the tenor horn part a few times, what does this mean?

- What does the the funny 'H' symbol mean,  with a horizontal line at the top of it? Hope that makes sense....

Cheers in advance,
Frank

Not sure about this as I can't envisage what you are referring to (a photo might help). The only thing I can think of is that the  first horn part is sometimes referred to as "Solo Horn" then 2 and 3 become 1 and 2.

Could be wrong (again Image Image Image)

Cheers

Yeah, a photo would help. The answer to these questions doesn't spring immediately to mind for me either.

H-, but with the bar connected to the H?

According to http://www.dolmetsch.com/musicalsymbols.htm, that means "hauptstimme, (German) principal part or voice" (which would be in keeping with Stewbones' "Solo Horn" idea).
