The 1980s was a great time to be young and living in New York City.  It was a really happening time for music.  Alto Saxophone player Arthur Blythe, with his heavy but not corny vibrato, and unorthodox lineups was part of that scene.  Tuba player Bob Stewart was a frequent collaborator.  I liked those Tuba, guitar, cello groups.

Sorry to hear that. I recall reading that he suffered from Parkinson's. Lenox Avenue Breakdown is one of my favorite albums. The title tune is masterpiece.
