Approximately when did Bach switch from the ball and ring mechanical linkages to the current mini-ball style linkages for rotary valves?

Mid to late 90s?

That sounds about right. The old ball and ring was surely harder to adjust correctly - but it sure felt better!

Yes, mine is ca. 1992 and had the old style linkage.

I somehow remember in the mid to late 90's that traditional wrap horns retained the older ring and ball mechanism, while the open wrap horns came with the mini ball linkage. Basically if memory serves, there was an overlap of of the two linkage set-ups on new horns at the time. Does anyone else remember that being the case or is it just me?
