I was digging around the internet and found this trombone. I thought maybe it had a Conn valve, and also looks like a large bore horn. Any idea what this could be?

Might be a 72h with some image distortion and a bad slide tenon repair. Definitely a Conn bass slide and a conn trigger and wrap. Could be a lot of things if the bell was replaced. Like a 72h slide with an 88h bell section with a B&S yellow bell. But the bell brace reinforcement is not a diamond, so it's not a pro Conn. Looks like a British engraving on the bell.

So I had the owner measure the diameter of the bell and it turns out that it's 8.5 inches.

Just curious, what's a B&S yellow bell? I know what a yellow brass bell is, but B&S? So you're thinking they took a Conn 72h slide and paired with with whatever that valve is for, possibly an 88h, and replaced the bell?

Sounds crazy. The horn is going for $350 and intrigued me, but definitely not worth taking the leap. I have other trombones I'm trying to buy and mess around with first :-)

Looks exactly like a Blessing B88. I am going to say an Accord stencil, but I can't really read what is on the bell. But everything screams Blessing.

Yup, B88. Non-reversed tuning slide, chrome grips.

Wouldn't a B88 have a red brass bell?

Some are yellow brass. I think the red brass version is a B88R or something like that.

The Accord stencils I have seen had yellow brass bells. And this horn has many signs of being a B88:

--Style and arrangement of wrap braces
--Round flanges on both ends of the bell brace
--Handslide grip is chrome-plated
--Outer slide brace is brass with round flanges
--Tuning slide is non-reversed (as noted)
--Trigger style is right
--Valve and valve cap look right
