Shires Maintenance

Hey all,

I'm moving on from my Edwards T396A soon to a Shires setup that I should be getting within the next couple weeks. When it comes to maintaining my Edwards, I use LaTromba T2 on the valve and Hetman Linkage on the linkages, and then usually Trombotine on the slide. If I'm feeling lazy, sometimes I'll use YamaSnot.

Does anyone know what Shires slides prefer, and what kind of maintenance I should be doing on the axial flow valve? Also any other information on maintaining them?

Thanks!

What you are using now should work fine.

I'd recommend hetman or ultra pure on the valve (and heavier of the same brand for the ball joints). Yamasnot works great on Shires slides.

Any reason against the T2 for the inside of the valve? Also what about the oiling intervals? I usually do it once a week and twice a week for the linkages.

Ultra pure is just great and doesn't leave any residue. I would use light rotor for the inside of the valve.

I use Hetmann 1 for the valve applied daily along with 15 for the joints and 7 in the slides. I think they ship new with a similar combo.
