What all of those Yamahas, I'm surprised you'd consider using anything but the Yamasnot.
Never heard of it. Is it like Rapid Comfort? What is it?

Ha ha, yes: I really like Yamasnot!
I discovered Yamaha instruments last year and I love them. A lot as you can see! (and I owned Raths, Conns, Bachs, Courtoises, Kings, etc.)
I don’t think it’s like Rapid Confort, because they are the two same bottles as usual, but with a “Light” inscription.

Re: Slide-O-Mix Light
I use SOM for a rotor valve lube.
Lasts a long time and does not bother my allergies with oil.

Re: Slide-O-Mix Light
I have used Slide-O- Mix regular since I first discovered it shortly after is came out. When the light version appeared I decided to try it and I found my small bore Kings slide action really was improved over what I got out of the regular version. This was on only my newer Kings. My 1963 Symphony does not like it at all! My King 3BSS 100th anniversary loves the light version. I would think that most newer Kings would do well. Older vintage Kings maybe not so much!? At one time before my collection got our of hand(only according to my wife!), I had a list of my trombones and just what lube they seemingly preferred(I need to update this list!). The majority of my trombones do fairly well with Yamahasnot. Just remember anytime you decide to try a new lube with a slide you have previously used a cream type of application, you must clean the slide well(or many times!!. When you have cleaned it for the 3rd time and you think it is ready and get not so great results, it probably was not clean enough! Just my experience.

Re: Slide-O-Mix Light
The light version or the one bottle version seem best. The thicker one does not seem in as well.
The Teflon and silicon tend to hold on for a long time. I also find when I pull the rotor cap off for the next lube it still has liquid in there.

Re: Slide-O-Mix Light
I use the SOM light and it's better than the regular on my Shires slide.
I, as some others do, use very little of the big bottle. It goes on once, maybe twice, after a deep clean. After that it's just daily wiping of the inners and re-application of the small bottle on the stockings. Every four or five days I swab out the outers.

Re: Slide-O-Mix Light
I use both the red cap two part and the black cap one part. Never knew why they just didn't put the two part together in one bottle. I would use just the single part one but I have a lifetime (or so it seems) supply of two part. It is absolutely the best lube I have ever used.
