Olds P-24G lever mod

Post by LeoInFL »

The poor ergonomics of the F-attachment lever on the Olds P-24G have been well-documented. The curve is too steep (for me) so here's the mod I'm planning:

1. use the old delrin (black plastic) lever cover from my Getzen 3047AFR when I switched to an Edwards cherry wood cover. the length of the delrin is a tiny fraction shorter than the Olds lever.
2. shape the bottom of the delrin cover (flattened & curved) to conform to the lever on the Olds
3. viewed from above, the Olds lever is teardrop-shaped so my plan is to cut a groove/slot in the bottom of the delrin to match. hopefully this will minimize shifting (my goal is to accomplish this mod without epoxy resin, screws or tie-downs)
4. secure the reshaped delrin cover to the Olds lever with some black (maybe clear??) electrical shrink wrap tubing.

This will be a prototype mod so we'll see how it goes. Seems doable in theory.

Photo updates to follow.

I have a p 24g also. Your lever is much more curved than mine. Maybe it was modified? You might be able to just flatten that lever a bit to help?
