Is the 48H lacquered?

Post by Elow »

Just have a question. I bought one for cheap even though i’m supposed to be saving my money. It’s a constellation and has barely any scratches so i was wondering if it was lacquered or if nickel plating is just super strong.

Yes, there is lacquer over the "Electro-D" plating.

These lacquered nickel-plated bells typically stand up very well to age and abuse. They often look pristine after decades, whereas the yellow brass slides often look pretty ratty. Sort of makes one want a nickel-silver slide!
