Bach 843 valve trombone

Hi everybody,
My son is a jazz valve trombone player and tuba player and he's looking for a new valve trombone. He plays with a Jupiter 528 but there is a resistance with some valves, so he is looking for a better instrument.
We found the famous Bach V16 but also the 843 Bach valve trombone. We can't find any information on the latter. Is it an intermediate model, is it the predecessor of the V16?
Any feedback or information on the 843 model is welcome! Thanks for your help, best regards

The 843, now discontinued, was indeed an intermediate valve trombone model below the V16, which was also in production at the time, I believe. My high school had (has?) an 843.

Not as fancy as the Strad, the 843 was all brass. The main tuning slide was at the end of the valve section like a trumpet. It did not have a thumb ring for the 1st valve like the V16, nor did it have a tuning slide in the bell section. I recall it being decent but nothing too special.

If I were in his shoes, I'd look for a different valve trombone like an olds or Conn. These have a bigger bore through the valves and should be less resistant. If set on Bach, get the V16: if or hopefully when he's ready for the slide, any Bach Strad small bore slide should fit it.

Thanks for your answer, difficult in France to find and try Olds or Conn ones... To complete it later with a small bore slide is a good idea!
