Curious to see how this develops... On a somewhat related note, I noticed that Cannonball Musical Instruments appears to be using the CR valve on their large tenor (don't know how recent this is). Wasn't the CR valve a Kanstul invention? Or am I remembering wrong?

It certainly looks like one, but most of that is just the valve cap. IMO it looks a little small to be a real CR or copy.

Cannonball is a new name to me. Does anyone here own one or play one?Wakawaka555 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 07, 2020 5:19 pm On a somewhat related note, I noticed that Cannonball Musical Instruments appears to be using the CR valve on their large tenor (don't know how recent this is).

They've been around for a long time, making saxophones primarily.Posaunus wrote: ↑Sat Nov 07, 2020 6:07 pmCannonball is a new name to me. My friend had a Cannonball trumpet. He used to be happy with it but his preferences have changed for some reason.
Last I heard, he sold it or something and he's on an Olds Ambassador until he can find another trumpet he likes.

This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Cannonball makes very good saxes. And they have done many things their own way - instead of just copying Selmer Paris like everyone else.

Can attest to the quality of Cannonball saxes. Almost bought one of their altos back when I played sax regularly. Their trombones had a really long development cycle from what I understand. They were showing them off in videos back in like 2015 but didn't sell them until 2018 I believe.
