I thought I might be the only one who's discovered the perfect place to practice. And there are 3 sets of doors between the bathroom and the rest of the house, making it possible to completely isolate my dulcet tones from my hyper-indulgent wife!

Things have greatly improved since my medical issues caused me to stop playing back in 2016. Much therapy and cardio brought my lungs back to about 90%. Playing in the big band again and working with the Showband at Gadsden State Mon-Thu every week.

Carl Fontana would also practice in the bathroom. And when the Flintstones came on the kids' tv, he'd rush out to play a chorus.

Acoustically, a BR is usually a great place to practice, and hear yourself. Not sure I would leave my horn on the wall though! Such a damp environment.

Ya know... bathrooms already have to have special sheet rock. If you designed in an extra layer or two sound-deadening and a proper sealing door, the bathroom could be the much-wished-for home "practice room".

Accommodating the required ventilation would be a problem but maybe solvable.

We have six lamps in our front parlor made from musical instruments (trombone, trumpet, bass bugle, steel clarinet, flute, and alto) and we're planning to continue the motif when we reboot the master bathroom next year. My wife found this tuba sink and demanded trumpet wall sconces to go along with it. I found a pair cheap, chrome-plated, Chinese pocket trumpets for $100 a pop at Amazon that should fit the bill nicely (that's cheaper than a lot of manufactured light fixtures.)

I love your creativity...I may have to try that, but since I share my bathroom with my wife, she may take issue with me warming up and rattling the shower doors with pedal tones while she showers lol.
