So Yamaha has come out with a few factory removable bell flare (aka cut bell screw bell) options, but they don't have a case available. I think is an interesting choice seeing that they are probably the largest B&O maker out there. Maybe they don't think the R&D value is there? Maybe they think that these options are not going to take off?
We currently have a YSL-891ZD and it's a killer horn that deserves a nice case, but I do not want to bundle it with something too crazy. I have a nice leather Marcus Bonna case, but that's an expensive case for us to even stock.
My colleagues and I were debating this the other day, but I think the TromboneChat hive mind is as good of a place as any to open the discussion.
PS here's some product photos we got of it in the MB case: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing
What case would you pair with a cut bell Yamaha?

Unless something else has appeared on the scene, the MB cut bell case or the Superfine bag are the only choices I would really consider.

I have heard mutterings of some other imported bags that are cheaper, but they appear to be Chinese MB copies.
I wish Gard would sell a line like the one that they made for the Bach A47XPS.

It's pretty hard to beat the Bonna cases.
The Marco Magi are very nice.
Irv Karan was selling something similar to the MB, I think maybe a rebadged Basili?

I ended up getting the MB.

Having done the screw-bell-conversion on my 3b, I was surprisingly motivated to cough up the extra $.
Why bother cutting it at all if you're going to cheap-out on the case/bag?
