Yamaha intermediate/Professional triggers?

I've seen alot of 642, 646, 842, 332, 456 on ebay and somewhat on reverb, Are any of these good horns?
From what I can see, the 8420 and 642 are cheaper/less refined xenos, and 332 and 456 are single trigger basses?
All of the following seem to sell between 600-1200 USD. Are they good horns, or would I be better off going for something else?

Yamaha 600 and 800 series horns are all 'professional" level. The 300 and 400 series are also quite nice.

However it all depends on the specific model. Yamaha has put out a very large number of different models over the years, so it's important to know what you are buying.

332 doesn't exist as far as I can find, and the 456 is a tenor trombone.

In any case, they're lower end instruments. The 448G is a pretty great deal if you can find it for a few hundred bucks, but they are not as good as some other instruments. You get what you pay for.

Right, hence why Im asking here. Ik theres always like "this year model wasn't good, but the year after was really good"
This horn is good for 1000 but for 1250 this is way better for the price.
I was looking and found the 8420 for $995(fs), but I don't know if this is one of those bones thats a gamble
I saw a alot of 642/646 for 850-1000

I've been checking out some of the 8xx horns on Reverb and eBay recently myself. I think they're totally worth a chance at around $1000. The 800 series were Yamaha's top of the line professional models for the Japanese domestic market before they began getting sold abroad as the Xeno line.

I've played a few of the 600 series, including the 640 I currently own and do a ton of well paying work with it. As noted above, this series is their "basic professional" line and are also solid horns for the prices you see them going for used, in my opinion. You can use the search function to find some pretty good reviews here, particularly of the 600 series medium bores.

I recently got one of the 455s direct from Japan, and I'm finding myself wishing I had the 456, but the 455 is really nice, and I like it more as I play it. The 456 is a tenor 500/522 dual bore 8" bell with F attachment. Like the 356. The free (and super fast) shipping from Japan is astounding, but I have absolutely no complaints. There are multiple vendors shipping from Japan. I dealt with Infinity_Japan.

No kidding! I've yet to make a horn purchase, but I buy a lot of JDM fishing equipment from shops in Japan. They use the Japanese equivalent of USPS and it consistently gets my my doorstep in 3 days, 4 tops.
