Bach 5GS bottom with 4G Rim
Looking for guidance.
I am currently working with the Bach 5GS. The rim is a little small. Is there something out there that has a 4G top connected to a 5GS bottom. All help is appreciated.

Doug Elliot pieces, of course.
You could also have him cut your 5GS underpart for rims (I've thought about doing the same for my 5GS, actually!).

The F+ cup should be considered as well.

There are some Greg Black and Griego mouthpieces with specs close to that, and I think the Schilke 52 would be close as well. Also, the Wick 4BL would also be close to that. The Elliott mouthpieces suggested in previous posts are also good choices.

You can also look at Warburton pieces. Their No. 7 top is about a Bach 4 size. You can get it with a variety of cups from shallow to very deep. I have their standard 5G which doesn’t feel as deep as a regular Bach G cup.

I just got the XT F/ F8, it's great for playing shows on a large bore, and it will be terrific for 1st parts in brass band also.

Hammond 11M or 11ML. Schilke M5.2. The Schilke M and Hammond ML are probably a bit deeper than your 5GS, but Hammond's ML cup is really efficient. (I don't know how a Hammond M compares.) Greg Black has choices.
There are also affordable used options. A Benge Marcellus comes to mind. I might even part with mine if you are desperate. If you'd entertain a sharper rim that probably feels a bit bigger than the 5GS but is smaller than a 4-ish rim, a Schilke 51C4. I've got a Bach 4 (no G) with a Conn shank that is probably close to what you want if you could find one that has a normal large shank. I'm not sure I've ever seen such a thing for sale.

I'd also recommend the Hammond 11ML

I considered this for the Benge 165F but...
After talking with Doug, I went with the Lt102/F+/G8

I bet that's a great setup for a Benge 165F (or a Conn 88H or ...) !

I'm really loving it! Doug fit me in person at ITF 2018 with the LT102/D/D4 on my 79H. With that in mind, he said the F+/G8 was a logical choice and works great for me.

Hey Bubba - did you get anywhere with this? Your thread generated some solid discussion.

I think a Schilke 51B could also be an option. I have one looking for a new home too.
