Tutti Camarata's Trombones history

Post by Ukkis »

Hi!

I want to do a concert later where we'll play the arrangements from the "Tutti's Trumpets & Trombones" album and i was wondering if anyone knew more about the history of the ensemble and the album?
Any nugget of info would be much apreciated!

If you can access the archives of the Trombone_L mailing list I think there is information in there about the project. I: am not sure where those archives are anymore, and I could not find that info in the handful of e-mails I saved from the Trombone-L mailing list. Those were the days!

Good luck - Doug

The group was the best studio player in LA .the band rehearsal before the session ..the Pink Panther for bass trombone was wrote for George Roberts but at theend he said not go to the session and Kenny Shroyer take his solo and his part to the session Ernie Tack comed at the end at rehearsal called at last minute (Kenny Shroyer told me thehistory) confirmed by Dick Nash too (told me the same).
Dick told me about the session and when he played a solo with Rosolino together with the same mic.
Great album and great session LA golden days... I'm a friend of Dick Nash and Shroyer and George Roberts too
I recorded with Dick and Kenny...I played a tribute to George in LA in front of him....also I played at Bobby Byrne 's memorial hosted by George Roberts with .e as guest soloist with bones west
