EZ-Bucket Choice
Hello All. I own a Conn 6H and the bell measures 7 and 3/4 inches. I want to order an EZ Bucket mute and my closest size choices would be 7 & 1/2" or 8". Does anyone have any first hand knowledge as to which one will fit better? Thanks.

Re: EZ-Bucket Choice
My 9-1/2" EZ Bucket is snug on my 9-1/2" bell. I would go for the 8" mute.

Re: EZ-Bucket Choice
I had a 9 1/2” easy bucket mute for my Minick which has a 9 1/4” bell and I found that the mute would just flop around. This was 5+ years ago.
I ended up buying a soft tone mute for my Minick.
I want to try out one of those salt shakers one of these days. That’ll probably be closer to a real bucket sound than the soft tone.

The salt shaker mute is really good. From behind the bell it certainly sounds a lot like a bucket.

Shameless plug
For those interested, more info on the Salt Shaker mute can be found here: https://s-mute.com/collections/trombone-mutes
Adaptable for many bell sizes and you can customize your sound profile with internal felt dampers. Its also super light!

I use an 8" EZ-Bucket on my Conn 6H and love it.
