FS: 1965 King 3B Silver Sonic

This is a 1965 King 3B Silver Sonic trombone which I purchased from DJ Kennedy recently, only to find out that I like my brass 3B better! This exact horn was played by Isrea Butler in the Cab Calloway Orchestra AND the Count Basie Orchestra. It's proven itself!

The partials all slot wonderfully and while it has the rich dark tone from the sterling silver, it brightens right up with a little push when you're in the upper register! Perfect for salsa, latin, funk, big bands, jazz combos and more!!

The outer slide was replaced at some point with one that seems to be from the 70s. It moves SO fast though! There's a tiny bit of plating wear on one of the stockings, which is pictured, but it's still really quick. The slide has absolutely 0 dents!!

Cosmetically, there are a bunch of very small dents and quite a few scratches. They don't really change the sound of the horn and can easily be rolled out by a tech. It looks like at some point the horn was bent, since the gooseneck isn't perfectly parallel to the bell, but it doesn't really affect the sound of the horn, judging by switching between this and other horns side by side. Also very easily serviced by a tech.

It comes with the original 3 piece counterweight engraved "King" and will be shipped in a vintage red alligator skin case that's seen better days, but will do the trick.
