WTB: King 3BF+ (SS is even more better)
Just got a response from Chicago Music Store that the King 3BF+ they are selling online is only $8K. Are these really that precious? or are there more earth bound examples available without the unobtanium price tag...still looking anyway

These are easy to find for anywhere from $1000 for one in well-used but perfectly playable condition to $2000 for one that looks like it just rolled off the assembly line.
$8000 is ridiculous!

I just noticed that it's a 3B+
Still too much. Be patient, and one will pop up at a reasonable price.

I got a non SS 3BF on Ebay earlier this year for $700. And it was in mostly good shape.

Chris Klimchek has a 3BFSS on sale for $1200. Right now it's on the Vintage Trombones FB page.

Yes, we are in discussion. But I didn't know a 3bf+ even existed until I began this search...in a bit of a quandary now

$8000 is beyond ludicrous.

Well, there's the 3B, and then there's the 3B+, which is a .525 bore.

Note that the 3B+ is currently not made with F-attachments. The Model 2125 came as a straight or F-attachment. I believe they stopped making the 2125 in the late 1990s (I tested an Anniversary 2125F Silver Sonic).
The 2125F is not a real substitute for a Bach 36B; it sounds "smaller". More like a slightly larger 3B.
I agree with everybody else. For $8,000 it should come from a famous player and be in pristine condition. That's almost 6 times what they normally go for.
