WTB: Sousaphone Case

Post by ttf_Hammer »

Hey all. I have this Buescher Sousaphone that was a very generous gift from a friend who no longer plays it. I've had it for a few years, and thought if I had a case it might cut down on the size the 2 pieces take up, while also cutting down the oxidation process a bit from just laying in the open. If anybody has an extra sousaphone case laying around, let me know. I know it would probably cost a hefty amount to ship, but maybe we can work out a deal, or we can meet up somewhere close-by, if you're near to the Lower Hudson Valley in New York.

You should try TubeNet as well for something like this, it's the Tuba/Euphonium version of tromboneforum. Not sure if you have to have an account to look at the classifieds, but you do need one to PM other members.

I dumped the case I had because it took up too much room.  The sousa doesn't take up much space hanging on the wall.

Most of the Sousa's I've borrowed over the years have been in bags.

If you take it apart, the valve section will sit on the bell.  That's how most bags work.  You can put some fabric between the two if you are worried about scratching.
