Here is a new Yamaha Xeno case that has never been used. Been resting in my garage for a few years. Small-bore Yamahas will fit; larger horns will NOT. So, if you have a 697, 897Z, etc., you will be in business! I have used the large-bore version of this case for years. I think it is the best case out there.

Do you think a Shires Michael Davis Plus would fit in this case? (7 3/4" bell)

I wouldn't know. I have never handled the small Shires. If I recall correctly, the Yamaha medium-bore horn I tried wouldn't fit because the bell brace placement was very different for the small-bored Yamahas, compared with with all the medium- and large-bore Yamahas.
I suppose you could send me some measurements. The distance from the bell rim to the very edge of the slide receiver. And from the slide receiver edge to the bell brace.
