FS: Benge 190F and 175F

Selling a couple of Benge trombones.

1) Benge 190F.  Overall good condition.  Some lacquer wear and a couple of dings on the tuning crook, but nice playing horn with good slide and rotor action.  Easy playing large tenor.  $600 shipped with Benge case.

2) Benge 175F. This is the .525 version. Essentially a 3B+ with brass outer slides, a gold brass bell, and a more open attachment wrap like the 190F above.  Slide and rotor have good action.  Lacquer is pretty spotty.  Rare horn that plays great.  More like a big little horn.  $750 shipped with Benge case.

3) Benge 175 straight bell section in great condition.  Mates directly to the 175F above.  Why go convertible when you can have separate bell sections.  Looks and plays great.  $400 shipped. 

Buy both the 175F and the straight bell section for $1000 shipped.

The Benge trombones (165F, 175F, 190F), if not trashed by their previous owners (often high-schoolers), are excellent and undervalued (though rare), and can be comparable to much higher-priced used instruments.  Other than the spotty lacquer, they are robust, and relatively easy to refurbish if needed.

I recently purchased a Yamaha 446G from Klimchak for one of my students through e-bay, and it was one of the cleanest horns I've received. And the slide and rotor were both in great shape, just as he had stated.
