I have the opportunity to buy a Boosey & Hawkes made in England.
From the case, it could be 1970s. Would that be a good instrument to have if it is technically ok?
What would be a ballpark figure for a reasonable one?
Regards
Bernt

Re: Boosey & Hawkes Trombone - buy?
Answer depends on who you ask. Which model is it ??? My experience with some B&H tenor and bass bones is: they are usually cheap, they do work, have a dark tonal quality, and feel heavy, but can be funny in intonation and response.
I have a silver-plated B&H sovereign tenor with Hagmann valves in my posession, but play it rarely. Both my Yamaha 356G and 682G play better, even with the semi-closed wrap and ordinary rotors.
If you want better intonation and response, I suggest you search for any used Yamaha you can find. Or Bach or Conn or ...

Ohh, that is interesting. I have a Bach TB 600 and wanted this as a second / practice instrument.
I want to play traditional Jazz type music on it.

If you just want a good small bore straight horn get a Yamaha 354, should be plentiful and economical.
