Nice picture, T. Oh yeah, the horn's nice too.

Wow, that would be great! I've never been to Hawaii but it's on my list of places I want to visit. Maybe one of these days we'll get there. If we do, I'll be sure to say hi!
Oh, absolutely! I would be very happy to meet you and let you play my horns.
Quote from: stanzabone on Aug 17, 2011, 10:03AMTotally OT, but that's a sweet looking conrad-johnson amp, and is that a Thorens deck for playing those antique vinyl audio delivery systems? I used to have a similar rig, back in the day when I was a single guy, defending my country with my trombone. It was just a few decades ago...
Good eye, stanzabone. You can see the conrad-johnson preamp but what you don't see is the custom made tube amp off to the left (6CA7 power tubes wired for triode mode and running in a Class A circuit). It'll probably be in the Williams family portrait when I get one of my slides back from John Sandhagen (it has lots of issues). The turntable is a Thorens TD160 Mk II and it has a Sumiko MMT arm with a high output moving coil cartridge. I wouldn't know where to turn if I ever need to replace the cartridge.
But I digress. I should try to blow some Shires, Edwards, and Rath horns so I know how my Williamses compare, but I certainly love playing my horns so maybe trying the others isn't such an issue.
Aloha,
Richard
