Diference between shires q series and eastman pro lineup
Shires says that the q series is a partnership with eastman and are entry level pro instruments. They are about the same pricepoint so are tgey the same thing with 2 diferent names?

Not quite. Shires Q is compatible with Shires parts. The Eastman is not. The Q is also better all around.

Aside from branding and Q compatibility with Shires, the Eastmans and Qs are from the same China factory. But Q parts are shipped back for final finishing. Honestly, for the money the Q is the way to go. The trombone market is overall diluted, I don’t see the viability to keep Eastman models around anymore.

The Q series actually originate in the Boston factory before being shipped to the Eastman factory for assembly. After the horns are assembled, they return to Boston for finishing and QC.
