Which is worth more?
I have a pair of King 2B Libertys. One is an HN White sn 410xxx putting it late 1960s. The other is a King 734xxx, late 70s. The older one has a grey Tempo case, the newer one has a later King case. The older one has a few more small dents, the newer one has more lacquer wear. Neither one show signs of major repairs. Is the HN White worth more due to being more vintage? Both play well. One will probably be sold to person who wants a 2B for jazz playing, but don't know which one to keep.
I'm not a complete idiot, some parts are still missing!

One way of getting info about this could be -
- go to ebay.com
- fill in "trombone king 2B"
- select "advanced"
- tick "sold listings"
You'll find about 40 entries which may help you to build an opinion about what is worth what.
Good luck!

I would suspect the Hn white to be more valuable but depends on condition

Re: Which is worth more?
Just ran the numbers on sold listings on eBay. Eliminated Silver Sonics on the high end and parts horns on the bottom. Age doesn't seem to make much of a difference, which surprised me. Both horns have cosmetic issues but are solid players. I'm figuring $600 to $725 for either horn. Any opinions on that?

Those are fair prices a little low to be honest in my opinion

Re: Which is worth more?
Personally, I would prefer the HN white. I've played many 3b concerts and the HN White's always seem to be better. I could be completely biased though. I've never done a true blind test. I've also found that HN White bells are a touch heavier. Maybe that's just my bell, but other 70's & 80's 3b's I've played that's been the case.
I'm not exactly sure when my bell is from though. The date of the serial number on the slide doesn't coincide with the engraving on my bell. So who knows!

Re: Which is worth more?
I have a 3B from the late 50s already, my go-to jazz horn. If I keep one of the 2Bs, it will probably be the older one to match. I am in contact with a high school kid in driving distance looking for a 2B, hope we make a deal. I really hate to do the "on line sale tango"again with questions, pics, price negotiations back and forth and shipping.
