Faulise: The F&D Double Valve Bass trombone
I had a look at this. Anyone spend time on it? Thoughts?

I bought this and worked with it for a time.
Some good exercises to make use of both triggers.
Not really an introductory book; you need to have some familiarity with the valves.
Not a heavy technique builder like Teele
Is it unique? No. But if you want to work your bass chops it's good.

It is a very good book for bass trombone development.

Faulise has three books: the one you mentioned (the original; a routine book for dependent valve players), a similar book for independent valve players, and then a book confusingly called Volume 2: The Basics, which is a method to introduce the bass trombone for new players, doublers, etc. I only have the first one, and adapted it for independent valves. I’ve seen the other two. Definitely recommended.

I have the 1st and independent book. The original is the better of the two.

I know this is an old thread... I'm trying to find a copy or a PDF of this book (the original F&D version). I would be thrilled if someone could point me in a direction towards that goal haha.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

I would also like to get a pdf of the original, dependent version. I have the independent version but I have a student with a dependent setup. I could, of course, use the independent version with him but the original would be nice to have. I can’t find it anywhere.

All books are out of print. Unfortunately. I studied with him. I have the manuscripts of all of these.

You need 3 approved posts. Note that the picture was just the cover of the Faulise book (which I have).

I've found a pdf of the independent one. My Duo Gravis and I would love to check out the original/dependent.
