Shires Q compatibility

So I’ve been reading about how the shires Q horns are compatible with the custom parts, with some variation in the earlier models. My question is, has anyone tried fitting custom parts to their Q? I was considering getting one, and a straight shires neckpipe. Anyone try that combination? Thoughts?
