Hello all,
I’m looking at purchasing a shires rotor valve section in the near future. Before I try them, I was curious what the community consensus is on them. Specifically between the standard shires rotor and their dual bore rotor. What are your perceived pros and cons.
Thanks,
David

Re: Shires rotor valve options
You aren't likely to find a consensus on them. While they do play similarly to one another every horn is different and some combinations work better or amplify the effect of certain valves more or less than other valves. So the con for a traditional rotor on one setup might be a pro on another setup. Go in with an open mind and try various configurations until one strikes your fancy if you're buying new. If you're buying used, there are a lot of Shires parts floating around so if it isn't perfect right off the bat, you'll probably be able to work your way into a good setup without too much effort.
