Any opinions on the price of this horn? It’s not far from me.

Re: Bach 36 value
I'd say that price is a bit high. Probably a good horn but not a lot of demand for 36BOs. I sold a similar, amazing player 36BO with yellow bell for just $900 a few years ago. No one wanted it!

It's in nice shape and has a gold bell, but it is still overpriced. 36s are popular, they're not unloved. Someone who's not very savvy may buy it at that price. You might check to see how long it's been on the market (looks like 4 days), and offer him $1200, maybe come up as high as $1500 if you really want it. Many 36s that you find are not in like-new condition, as this one seems to be. Not needing to ship and the ability to try before you buy are worth some money as well. The most expensive used 36 at Dillons is about $1200, and not as new or nice. At Brass Exchange, much older horns are $13-1900. With retail shops you're paying for other stuff. On ebay, they range from $950 to $1700+ depending on a lot of things.

I'm with hyperbolica on this one. The price is a bit too high on this horn. However, it looks to be in excellent condition, so I would not aim as low as Burgerbob sold his former horn. The seller describes this horn as "mint" condition and it does have the gold brass bell (which usually drives the price up $50 - $75). I think it should sell in the $1250 - $1500 range.

By no means do I think it's only worth 900, just that it's hard to get money for 36s.

I wouldn’t pay more than 1k for that horn.
That being said, someone else might.
