That's hilarious. I had a euphonium that someone did the exact same thing for the leadpipe. (They soldered a small shank mouthpiece adapter into copper plumbing and soldered that directly to the valve block. Wish I still had pictures of that!!

If he had used long radius elbows, it might have been playable.
I think plumbing pipe is measured by outside diameter....please correct me if I am wrong. So I wonder what width pipe they used on that trombone.....5/8"? Do they make a 9/16" copper pipe?
