I find the info on the website a bit confusing.. Are there a difference in taper between these bells?

Slightly, the 47 has a different thickness profile, slightly smaller stem, different bead.

Yes, it's noticeable. Of course the artisan chassis is different as well, so it can't be compared exactly..
I personally prefer a good 42 bell, a bit larger and warmer sounding.

Different chassis too... Wow.. I havent been playing attention . Can You explain what the difference between the 42 and the 47 chassis is? ( sorry for all the questions.. I'll stop now

47 has a reversed tuning slide (though I think the taper is the same...?).

Hmm.. Interesting.. The 42 has a rather tight neckpipe.. Maybe its bigger on the 47 due to the reverse Tuning..

I think that is a different part on the 47. Don't quote me on that though.
