Conn Director Model
My friend has a Conn Director trombone, and I am wondering if I could get help on dating the instrument. The serial number is E20339. If anyone also knows if it’s a 14H, 28H, or any other specific model that would be really helpful. It is a copiron horn.

Re: Conn Director Model
Conn trombones usually have the model number just before the serial, so your serial should look like "18H E20339".
Your serial indicates a late Elkhart before the move to Texas, and 18H was one of the Director model numbers in use at the time.

The Conn "E" serial number indicates that it was manufactured in Elkhart in 1965 - 7 years before the move to Abilene in 1972.

Thank you guys! It did not have 18H in front of the serial number. Only the serial number. I really appreciate the info!

Look for a number on the bell receiver, under the bell nut.
