I am selling a Scherzer Eb Alto Trombone that is convertible from an instrument without a valve to one with a valve that puts it in Bb. The valve is operated by a string; this system is unusual, but works well once you adjust the length of the string and get used to it. The bore is .460 inch with a 7 inch bell. The connection between the bell and the slide is tapered friction fit without a locknut. There is no slide lock, but there is a device that keeps the outer slide from going off the end of the inner slide by catching on the stockings. This can be disabled in order to remove the outer slide from the inner. The cork barrel has springs like a Conn 88H. The water key is operated with a button on the outer slide brace. The slide is excellent with no serious wear on the stockings. Compared with a Conn 35H Alto Trombone, the sound of this instrument is somewhat smaller, but very good nevertheless and it is very well in tune with itself. This is a somewhat unusual instrument by the standards of this country, but certainly would make a good choice for a person who is looking for a good alto trombone. The instrument comes with a case that is somewhat worn but still definitely usable. It does not come with a mouthpiece; the receiver is standard tenor trombone size. The cost is $2200. plus shipping; Paypal is preferred. My email is ] Pictures can be seen at https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B0Q5yeZFhimZon
