This horn is amazing! Nobody has decided to bid yet, so I decided to post on here. Great overall condition, other than lacquer (its there but is worn in contact points and other areas). No dents, but there is a microscopic ding at the start of bell flare. Slide is in perfect condition, and is quiet and fast. Plays great. Has a custom made counterweight from brass-lab on it. Plays wonderfully! I have videos on the listing, with me playing (not the best but it shows the horn works!

Only reason I'm selling is because I rarely play it, as I play lead in jazz, my Conn 12h is more suited. Its a very fun instrument, and I would like it too go to a forum member who cares for instruments rather than a 6th grader! I keep picking it up and second guessing myself about selling it, but it needs a new home...

It has an unmodified leadpipe, just so you know. (little bit smaller than a normal small shank receiver, but my bach corp. 6-1/2AL works wonderfully)

I want to! But I just feel like it's going to waste, I probably play it about an hour every 2 months. Someone else should enjoy it, too!

I think eBay just don't want you selling something privately because they don't get any money from the sale. As long as you go through eBay somehow, I think it is ok to sell something in that way. Idk for sure though...

You can list it as "Best Offer" THis way you can negotiate the price providing someone submits an offer.

If you do not sell it on Ebay this time, try starting at a low price- maybe $200. You should definitely get bids and they will generally take the selling price up to the actual market value of the horn. If your trombone does not sell on ebay it is almost always because the price you are asking is higher than the market is willing to pay. Let the auction process work for you

IMO, that horn is easily worth $500 or better. Starting an auction with a lower price is a good idea. I would set a reserve price though..to protect yourself.

Reserves tend to depress bidding- The whole purpose of the auction is to let the marketplace set the value. I think $500 may be a fair price but given the condition of the lacquer finish, $500 is probably more than most would pay. I would expect to buy or sell that horn for less than $500.

When the market is not as much as the horn is worth to you, that is when you keep it. I kept a bass trumpet for years thinking it was only worth about $600, decided it was time to sell, and it sold for $1500. I also sold a 72H for about the same and have spent the last ten years regretting it and searching for one that plays as well as the first did- I have since bought two and was disappointed in both.

No guarantees but the marketplace generally works- capitalism!

I'm not too sure what market price would be, most of the ones listed are Fullertons with okay lacquer - but that are morbidly abused and listed for much more. Even the horn on brass exchange is a Fullerton with lacquer just as bad as mine and it's almost $900. I thought that even the $120 counterweight would drive the price up even more. And I've been told that the Los Angeles horns are worth alot more due to quality and how it plays.

Though I have never played a Fullerton Recording, I do have a Fullerton Ambassador- and the recording is a much better horn in construction. On my ambassador the bracing has broke off once and the tuning to bell ferrule got stuck on the tuning slide and removed itself from the bell. The ambassador does play well, but not as well as the recording. But the Fullerton factory (in my experience) produces cheaper and less substantial instruments.

here is a listing of the Ebay Recording horns that actually sold- not the ones that were listed and did not sell. You can see that the higher priced ones were in superb condition cosmetically
