Re: Dentures
I have been practicing again for about a week. Still cannot play with any competance without the teeth in. The lowers still need some adjusting so I am only putting in my dentures during practice time and concerts. The pain is almost unbearable. Any thoughts or similar experiences?

Re: Dentures
Hi, Thom.
I don't have any personal experience playing with dentures (fortunately my teeth are all still OK), but I know a couple of amateur players who have them.
When you say there is pain, do you mean while playing with the dentures in or because the dentures still need adjustment and it's painful to wear them? If the later, then the solution is obviously to get them adjusted. If it's painful to play with them on there might be some things you could do to help, but that's hard to say anything for certain without watching you play and getting you to try out some things and see what happens. Maybe a different mouthpiece placement or maybe adjusting something else to your embouchure form would help.
