Glad I listened to the bass player

3 songs this morning, first definitely a trumpet song, the Holton MF was sounding good this morning. Second definitely a French horn song. Third, debating between trumpet and trombone. Trumpet playing and today’s bass guitar playing grandson said definitely trombone. Glanced at the chord chart at practice, ok, not gonna follow it too close. Man, the notes coming outta the horn were just flowing and I was really enjoying playing the trombone the most I have for awhile! Not sure if just putting the French horn down and jumping on trombone had anything to do with it, but just one of those days what’s in my head came right outta the horn.

Uh-oh, band called back up at the end of the service. Back to the French horn song. Today was first time this year I picked up my French horn. It seemed to be at one with me too, but the trombone was the more enjoyable by far to play. And no transposing required for trombone.
