This is a Holton TR159, a dual bore, 547/559, 9" bell, with F attachment (with 2 tuning slides). Rose bell. Nickel silver outers, yellow brass slide crook. In really nice shape. 99% lacquer. No dents. Few imperfections. Great slide. Original case in very good condition. Fantastic big sound. Great deep bottom range. I used 5G and 2G on this, and it responds beautifully at both ends. I think it plays as well as my 88h as an all-around horn, and much better in the low range.
I was going to experiment with an Eb slide on the attachment to use this as a single trigger small bass, and it sounded great, but I've decided to go a different direction with a 70h, which is more appropriate in that role.
If you need a horn like this, this is a great specimen, with a really great big sound.
If you're interested, make me an offer. Possibly open to trades. No lowballs please, I'm not desperate.
