Very Early Elkhart Bach LT42B 1965

Post by ttf_Norlan Bewley »

I have a very early Elkhart LT42B that I am considering selling. It plays very well.

It was made in 1965 with the serial numbers beginning at 8000. This one is # 8135. The previous owner customized the main tuning slide to reverse tuning.
It includes both the original and a modern main tuning slide in reverse tuning.

The horn is in great shape, looks like new so most likely overhauled or at least re-lacquered. It looks just like a Mt Vernon 42 and is most likely made with all or mostly MT Vernon parts according to Noah Gladstone of the Brass Ark. I had the trigger linkage converted to a quieter ball and socket, but the original linkage is included and can be screwed back in place.

Comes with an older Bach case, but it's not the French style so probably not the original case.
